This month, the RAA begins preparations for this year's 2nd annual Theatre Crawl coming this October! We are thrilled to have our theatres back from last year and are so excited to be adding new ones for this year's experience. Also top in our news this month, Murfreesboro Little Theatre is gearing up for auditions as they prepare to showcase the show “Misery” by William Golman. Based on the Stephen King novel and directed by Jeff Mangum, “Misery” follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. Bravo Boro begins rehearsals for the freshly cast show “12 Angry Jurors”... That’s right folks, Bravo is proud to introduce this adapted version of the beloved Reginald Rose’s, “12 Angry Men,” but with a gender inclusive twist! Center For The Arts wraps up an absolutely smashing run of “Avenue Q”. As a theatre attendee myself, as well as a first time viewer of this production, I can say with confidence that my face ached from laughing by the time the curtain fell! Consider This Theater invites you to their first ever New Director One Acts Festival! Performances will take place August 19th – 21st and 26th – 28th at Mills-Pate Arts Center. Festival tickets are $12 online or at the door. Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2:00p.m. Their highlighted production will be, “Just A Stage He’s Going Through” by Pat Cook! Ghost Light Studio is starting back strong with Musical Theatre Dance class, where students will be learning a Broadway style dance to “Under The Sea.” Classes begin August 2nd with a one week late sign-up granted, spots are still available. Keep an eye out for their upcoming audition announcement for “Twisted Ranch,” a Murder Mystery dinner theatre full production!
