Rutherford County Theatre News, June 2022

Happy Saturday Middle TN,

This month holds a treasure trove of exciting auditions and productions!

  • Consider This Theatre kicks us off with their production of “The Drowsy Chaperone” running June 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 12th. This production pays homage to American musicals of the Jazz Age, and examines the effect that musicals have on the fans who adore them. Be sure to grab your tickets at considerthisinc.com/shoppe/.

  • Murfreesboro Little Theatre is wrapping up their spooky and all-around enjoyable run of Macbeth June 2nd, 3rd, and 5th at 7:00pm on the grounds of Oaklands Mansion. Bring your own chairs and a picnic! Free to the public with a $10 suggested donation. MLT is also full steam ahead and ready with their upcoming auditions for “Who Killed John Bell”, a Bell Witch Experience. Auditions will run June 11th and 12th, so be sure mark your calendars if you’re looking for something witchy. For more information visit their Facebook event for auditions.

  • Be ready to SPLASH into summer with Center for The Arts upcoming production of “SpongeBob The Musical!” This bright and fun musical has been hitting the stages of Broadway and has now become available in our own backyard. Shows will be running every weekend from June 10th-26th, so grab your family’s tickets before they sell out at app.arts-people.com/index.php?preseason=cfta

  • Ghost Light Studio has recently wrapped up auditions for their upcoming Cabaret, and is kicking off the summer with style, as they partner with Carpe Artista Academy to bring you Imagine Musical Theatre Mini’s Camp. In this K-5th graders summer camp, students will learn the basics of performing in theatre, as they put on “The Mystery of The Missing Meatball.” Camp will be running June 20th-24th and there are still some spots available. If you’re still looking for a fun way to grow your student this summer, be sure to sign-up at: hisawyer.com/carpe-artista/schedules/activity-set/291855

  • After an especially successful run of “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” Bravo Boro takes a short rest for May and June. However, performing artists should be sitting close to the edge of their seat in anticipation of their upcoming auditions for “12 Angry Jurors” in July. After their past successes, Bravo is sure to continue wowing us with what they have planned for the rest of the season. For more information about Bravo Boro, visit their website at bravoboro.com.

  • As always, thank you for keeping up with all the performing art that Middle TN has to offer! We do what we do out of love and hope to impact the community we live in because of it! Always remember to support local artist!

“Art is too important not to share.”
