Local Arts Calendar Now Available for Preorder

Celebrate local poets, photographers, and visual artists with our 2023 wall calendar, “Dreamers Awake.” Featuring the creative work of more than forty area residents, this 12 x 18 (when open), full-color calendar is being produced in collaboration with Poetry in the Boro.

Each month showcases one or two featured poems, a featured photo or visual art, and one or two haiku or other short form poems. Federal holidays are noted, and there’s ample space in the daily squares for notes and doodles.

The cover image, “Circles” by Vicki Graham, is a photograph of colored pencils and their reflection on a shiny black surface. The calendar title is taken from a February poem of the same title by Murfreesboro resident Brandon Long.

This is the third year for Poetry in the Boro to produce the calendar with various organizational partners. The annual project is funded in part through a grant awarded to 2020-2021 Murfreesboro Poet Laureate Amie Whittemore by the Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship.

The calendars are $20 each, available now for preorder at poetryintheboro.org/calendar-order/.

Calendars available in mid-November

We expect the calendars in-house by mid-November, and will begin distribution at a special Poetry in the Boro event scheduled for Sunday afternoon, 11/13 (more details will be posted soon). Please order early to allow for slower shipping this season.
