Murfreesboro Little Theatre has quite a busy month! On August 23rd and 24th they are having auditions for their next production Spirit Up. Auditions will be held at the Murfreesboro Library at 105 W. Vine Street at 6pm. They will also be hosting their 59th Season Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony at the Walut House this Saturday at 6pm
Speaking of auditions, Kara J. Kemp, founder of the Bloomstage in Murfreesboro, is hosting auditions for her radio theatre production of War of the Worlds, the same script originally performed by Orson Welles’ Mercury Theater company! Auditions will be on August 22 from 3-6pm. The auditions will consist of cold readings, and virtual auditions can be considered due to the concerns of the Delta Variant. Another radio theatre production company is making it’s return to live performing! Count Drahoon’s Feature of Fright announced that they will perform at the Bellamy Cafe in Wartrace on October 29th! Show creator Taylor Gentry says it will be a dinner show with limited seating. He also maintains that the particular tale they are performing is top secret, and will only be revealed on the evening of the performance. More information on this show as it develops.
The next Smokes N Jokes showcase will be on September 13th at 8pm at Liquid Smoke; 101 N. Public Street in Murfreesboro.
