July RAA Virtual Meeting: Photography and Grant Opportunities in Rutherford County

Join RAA for an information session on local photography and grant opportunities. Jessica Nelson will discuss Photography Connect (a local photo group) and Focus on the Boro (a community photo exhibition for Rutherford County). Kathleen Tyree from the Technology Engagement Center will also join us to illustrate grant software available through the library system.

Jessica Nelson is a photographer living in Murfreesboro, TN. Nelson's work is inspired by the issues facing her community and life in the growing suburbs of Nashville. Jessica's crisp, bold images are a reflection of her love of photojournalism and modern art. She most commonly works in portraiture but has also created commercial and fine arts projects.

Kathleen Tyree is the Branch Manager of the Technology Engagement Center. A member of the Tennessee Library Association, the Public Library Association and the American Library Association, Tyree earned her MLIS from UT-Knoxville. She’s served on the Rutherford One Book Committee since 2014, and is a member of HARC, and the Downtown Murfreesboro Business Association.

Member meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month and are free and open to the public. Why not bring a friend? We make an effort to hold meetings at different times of day and at different locations across Rutherford County to accommodate as many people as we can. We also want to showcase the breadth and depth of cultural heritage resources available.

If you would like to host a meeting later in 2020, please let us know. Once we resume physical meetings, the facility should be able to fit 50-60 people.
