The MTSU College of Education recently partnered with the Rutherford Arts Alliance to host the second-ever SoKidLit event. The February 10 event, officially called the SoKidLit Difference Makers Day, featured YA author Kristin O’Donnel Tubb and a range of art and STEM activities. Over 160 people attended the event, and each child received a free book by Tubb, thanks to our sponsors.
As the photos below show, the day was a big success! “The MTSU College of Education really did the heavy lifting on this event,” said Kory Wells, a RAA founding board member and leader of the organization’s literary interest group. “We so appreciate the leadership of principal organizer Dr. Katie Schrodt, the support of Dr. Robyn Ridgley, Associate Dean, and the generous spirit of numerous faculty and students who volunteered their time and expertise.”

Fun fact: Firefighters weren’t originally on our schedule, but they came for what turned out to be a false alarm. Thanks to MFD and MTSU security for making sure we were safe!
