Rutherford County Theatre News, December 2022

Happy Holidays Reader,

While some theatres take a break over the holiday season, others embrace the spirit of Christmas and are planning to share the magic onstage. So, make a holiday family memory this season by going to see one of these fabulously jolly productions!

Center for the Arts will jingle your bells with Nuncrackers:  The Nunsense Christmas Musical! – their hilarious comeback of the nuns we have come to love in Nunsense.  This PG-rated comedy musical will be running December 2nd through the 18th .

You can grab your tickets and learn more on their website:  Center for the Arts

Murfreesboro Little Theatre has an exciting lineup this holiday season, including a new original show, ‘Twas the Bite Before Christmas. In this new Christmas production with a twist, we visit the North Pole with Mrs. Claus and the gang, but when a mysterious figure uses dark magic to raise the dead, the halls are decked with chaos.

Get your tickets and reserve your spot for more festive events on their website: Murfreesboro Little Theatre

Bravo Boro plans ahead for their upcoming season as they have their first 2023 show audition THIS WEEK for, The Curious Savage. Join them this Sunday, December 11th and Monday, December 12th at 7:00 pm at the Carpe Artista Arts Academy (1334 Hazelwood Drive, Smyrna) to audition for this hysterical comedy. This production features roles for all ages and genders, so if you’re looking to get involved this season, get your audition boots on!

Audition details can be found on their Facebook event page: The Curious Savage

As the remainder of our usually mentioned theatres take a season of rest over the next month, we look forward to watching the continued passion that all the Rutherford County performing arts venues offer to us. Are you with a theatre group or organization that hasn’t been mentioned yet? What are you waiting for? You can get involved with the RAA and be highlighted in my monthly theatre blog by reaching out to Poem.atkinson@yahoo.com

Make this a special holiday season by going out to support local artists.

Until next month,

“I believe that in a great city, or even in a small city or a village,

a great theatre is the outward and visible sign of

an inward and probable culture.”
