Audition Workshop with Denise Parton and Mark David Williams

  • Center for the Arts 110 W. College St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130 (map)

Does someone else always land the role you want? What are they doing that you’re not?  Have you wanted to audition but didn’t know where to start?

This informative workshop features The Center for the Arts’ artistic team and will help you understand the casting process and give valuable information on how to compete with the leads.

This workshop will explore the following topics:

  • Understanding the audition process-from registering to callbacks

  • What is the competition doing that I am not?

  • Who is on the artistic team and what do they want?

  • How to make the choices that get you noticed

  • Song or monologue choice and how to perform it

  • Cold reads—they aren’t as “cold” as you think

  • Conquering the callback

  • Pushing through the fear and going for it!

  • How to pass the dance audition (dancing not required for this workshop)

“ Don't let the fear of striking out hold you back.”
