Paintings of local aquatic and outdoor scenes by some of Rutherford County’s most talented artists are now up for bid through a special project to benefit Tennessee Riverkeeper. Thanks to a collaboration between Ricky Martini of Two Martini Music, Tennessee Riverkeeper, and the Rutherford Arts Alliance, the fourteen paintings are currently on display as part of an outdoor mural installation at the Walnut House, 116 N. Walnut Street in downtown Murfreesboro. In addition to the paintings, elements painted by Carole Anne Rogers unify the mural with depictions inspired by the Stones River ecosystem.
Participating artists include Meagan Armes, Carol Berning, Lisa Browning, Ryan Frizzell, Susan Gulley, Gregory Lannom, Suzanne LeBeau, Pam Mack, Larry Pinkerton, Tom Seymour, Lisa Sims, Molly Steen, Melinda Tate, and Ginny Togrye.
Founded in 2009, Tennessee Riverkeeper works to protect and preserve the Tennessee and Cumberland River Basins.
Bidding is open through 5 PM Sunday, October 20, 2024, at twomartinimusic.com. All proceeds of the auction benefit Tennessee Riverkeeper. After a final celebration at the Walnut House (date TBA), each painting will be framed for its winning bidder. Each painting is 32 x 48 before framing.
