Workshop: From Snapshot to Fine Art Image

Join us for this 90-minute workshop which will cover topics such as finding a compelling subject, compositional guidelines, overcoming outdoor lighting challenges, using the process of elimination, and selecting focus points. Learn how to break away from the “Auto” mode on your camera for more creative images. Bringing a camera is ideal but not required for this class.

Cost: Free to RAA members, $25 for non-members, which includes RAA membership. You can pay or renew your membership at the workshop. (Cash or check preferred; credit also accepted.)

About the workshop leader

Gale Stoner photographs people, places and things. He began photographing landscapes in the mid-sixties while stationed in Duluth, MN. After a successful 21-year career in the Air Force and then as a professional speaker for the past two decades, Gale returned to his love of photography and his passion to share.

Gale’s work has been published in Photoshop User Magazine, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Redstone Credit Union Calendar, and the cover of the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce Visitors Guide. Gale has just completed his term as Photographer Laureate for the City of Murfreesboro.
